  1. I love the native prickly pear cacti, they are one of my favorite garden plants. I lined a whole section of the border next to the entrance of my parents' house with them. My dad complains about the spines sometimes but the floral display in early summer is unbeatable.

  2. I like the purple coneflowers and finally got the prickly pear to bloom after moving it to all day sun. (duh) It's native here in Minnesota but only in the southwest corner of the state. We missed the "big storm" by only two days as we headed off to Florida to visit some cousins.
