  1. That's a gorgeous white spiderwort. I just love those little flowers! Your sky and pictures are so vivid I can just imagine your garden in person. And to live on a lake!

  2. Beautiful pictures! I've never seen a Bearded Iris before. It does seem to have some kind of a "beard". I wonder if you would you be able to post a close up of it sometime.

  3. Thanks for your comment on my blog.

I'm amazed by your pictures. Our irises were over by mid April and our peonies by mid May due to the warm, dry spring we had. I almost wish the garden would slow down a bit and give me time to enjoy each season a bit more.

  6. About translating? If you use Google Chrome as a browser, you can set it to 'always' translate Portuguese, or ask first, or never translate Portuguese - depending on your own languages.

Oh and I have seen those rock piles called obos. Don't know what language or culture that is.

  8. Congratulations on your gardens Jack they are truly beautiful...I don´t know where to start, but that red Peony it´s amazing...we don´t have many peonies here in Portugal...one thing is certain our Bearded Iris are long gone...we are now well into Summer time, I can see for you is like early spring I think. It´s the difference of living in Zone 9 and you in zone 4...in Europe we only have Zone 4 in Norway or Russia!!!

  9. I think that even I have my garden in zone 4, but then again, I live in between Russia and Norway. The difference is that I live near the Arctic Circle and you live in the same latitude as Italy. Sometimes I wish my garden was closer to Italy than to the Arctic Circle. / Hans
