Shadows

 Along the Lily Path

It is like looking at something that is not there – not real, but it is.  For those who like seeing “line” in art works, shadows satisfies in many ways.  There is the simple black and white, yet there is the beauty of line and form.  Shadows give the viewer that fleeting opportunity in Winter, Summer, or in between, to grasp the moment,  only the moment.  It can be seen as it is now, then changed, now not the same, never again.

Here in the Gardens at Waters East, with all the varied plants, trees, sculptures, and tons of stone, etc. things might seem rather permanent.  The shadow reminds us that all is fleeting.  Even we, marking time for a moment, then gone.  Interesting.
