JUST the LAKE #1

Here are a few photos focusing on the lake – Lake Michigan – which stretches along the acres of the Gardens at Waters East.   The lake brings so much to the gardens in the Summer, Winter and all the seasons of the year.

Each posting in this series will not only post great photos of views from the gardens, but also three or more must know  “facts” about Lake Michigan in each posting in the series – Just the Lake.

Enjoy the beauty of the lake out beyond the gardens.

FACT:  The name Lake Michigan is derived from the Ojibwa Indian word mishigami – meaning large lake.

FACT:  LENGTH:  307 miles / 494 km.

FACT:  BREADTH:  118 miles / 190 km.

FACT:  The region is often referred to as the "Third Coast" of the United States, after those of the Atlantic Ocean and the Pacific Ocean.

NOTE:   Since this Blog is meant to be an accurate journal of the gardens;
no photos are “staged”, “arranged”, or ”photo-shopped” in anyway.
What is posted – is what it here.  It is what it is.
