My - Mother-in-law

Like lots of people, I think I have an “interesting” Mother-in-law!  Here are photos of mine taken this week in the home’s sunroom.  Everyone who has seen her this week say – “I have never seen that before”.

How unusual is a blooming Mother-in-law – you tell me.

Magnolia in May

There is something special about the Royal Star Magnolia that has always gotten my attention.  It must be a combination of things that makes it one of my favorite blooms.

It has a “soft” white with hints of subtle color undertones.  It moves so gently in the onshore breezes that come in from Lake Michigan, just a slight flutter in the petals.  It has a smooth delicate look and texture.  It has a simple plain appearance yet with a recognizable and understated air of sophistication.

It is regal.

It is elegant.

Enjoy a few of the photos taken this week of the appropriately named
Royal Star Magnolia here in the gardens this month of May.

Spring has Sprung!!!!!

Finally here at the shore, the signs of Spring are happening.  Colors are popping up here and there as life returns to the gardens. Yellows and blues and whites – welcome me and the birds and butterflies.  I love this time of the year.  Life is renewing itself.  I drink it in.
Here are a few photos taken the last days in April.
