Want a "Quickie" ? Today - waves 4.29.2020

All night long the wind has been blowing – speeds at 25 – 35 MPH with gusts even stronger!  Strong winds.  Here at the gardens as one looked out over Lake Michigan, you could see that the waves were high as far as the eye could see.

It is difficult to see or even feel the power in the water here at the gardens so I  thought it might be good to check out the harbor just down from the Gardens at Waters East.  This gives you more of a true visual of the power and force today on Lake Michigan.

Enjoy

IN Your Face #17 - Blue Flax

In Your Face!!!

Me, me, me.  Look at me.  No, look at me.  Better yet, skip all those and look at me!  Walking through the Gardens at Waters East, one almost hears this constant refrain.  Every plant wants attention.  Every bloom is screaming – “I’m so beautiful just look at me!”  In many cases they are right.  Take a look at some of the beauties basking in the sun and calling to be the center of your attention. Checkout the detail of this garden resident – Blue Flax.

Self centered though they may be, the flowers do make you stop and stare.  They seem to be doing “their thing” just for you.  So why not indulge them for a few moments while walking the paths.

Here then are photos for this posting
pause a moment - - - really slow down and pause a moment

Want a "Quickie" ? Spring Blooms

Quickie – April 16, 2020

Took these photos this afternoon.  I decided I had to get out of the house now that the sun is shining – though it is still pretty cold.  So very encouraging to see that Spring is beginning here!

 Crocus

 Siberian Squill

Puschkinia

Always interesting to see where the flowers will sprout this year.  They seem to spread themselves all over the place. Started with a few, when the gardens were beginning, and now they spread here and there – looking so happy!
All of these plants - SPREAD HAPPILY
SURPRISES ME HOW THEY GET FROM HERE TO THERE!!!

Siberian Squill - spreading here and there.

 Petasites japonicus
now starting the bud - which reaches 15 - 18 niches tall!

Enjoy more photos from a walk around the gardens this afternoon.
ENJOY

Still spreading all over the place!

RED FOX

Being confined to the house, gives me plenty of time to watch out the window – guess who has been here that last few days?

Before we get to the most recent visitor; last week it was:  the skunk, deer (always around the house) loads of birds migrating north, the American Eagle on its daily sailing on the air above the beach now looking for the Brown Trout, and yesterday the latest visitor – the Red Fox.  It was happy finding lunch!!!

It’s always something !
