In Your FACE #19

 In Your Face!!!

Me, me, me.  Look at me.  No, look at me.  Better yet, skip all those and look at me!  Walking through the Gardens at Waters East, one almost hears this constant refrain.  Every plant wants attention.  Every bloom is screaming – “I’m so beautiful just look at me!”  In many cases they are right.  Take a look at some of the beauties basking in the sun and calling to be the center of your attention. Checkout the detail of some of the garden residents.

All of these “portraits” were take here in the gardens.  Self centered though they may be, the flowers do make you stop and stare.  They seem to be doing “their thing” just for you.  So why not indulge them for a few moments while walking the paths.

Here then are photos for this posting

pause a moment - - - really slow down and pause a moment

even if you only pick one or two of the photos - pause a moment

The Last Daylily - of 2020

Well, well, well.  The last of the day lilies has finally bloomed this week. There are more than 200 plants here in the Gardens at Waters East.  So many different plants have been hybridized over the years, so many colors, so many sizes. But now all is finished for the year.

In future postings,  I will share with you some of the many beautiful plants and blooms from others growing here.  But for now – just one - the last bloom of the summer.  Plants started to bloom the first week of July and finally this is the end of their season.

Enjoy

And no doubt, you will more than enjoy the postings of the 2020 day lilies yet to come.

Want a "Quickie" Today ? - - more Monarchs early this morning

 Monarchs 9.1.20

They must be more than a thousand monarchs on the trees this morning.  Really!!!  They continue to gather at night and leave in the early morning – on their way to Mexico.  Here are a couple of the clusters that were close as I approached the tree today at 6:00 AM.
