In Your Face!!!

Me, me, me.  Look at me.  No, look at me.  Better yet, skip all those and look at me!  Walking through the Gardens at Waters East, one almost hears this constant refrain.  Every plant wants attention.  Every bloom is screaming – “I’m so beautiful just look at me!”  In many cases they are right.  Take a look at some of the beauties basking in the sun and calling to be the center of your attention. Checkout the detail of some of the garden residents.

All of these “portraits” were take here in the gardens.  Self centered though they may be, the flowers do make you stop and stare.  They seem to be doing “their thing” just for you.  So why not indulge them for a few moments while walking the paths.

I took a quick walk around the gardens before heading off to the library.  Summer is quickly fading. Autumn is beginning and the plants are now showing that the process is happening.  Once again – way too many photos to post - - so here are a few as a “sampling” of this day.

This Morning! 8.17.16

I took the dogs for a walk along the shore this morning.  A beautiful day that I thought I would share with you.  This is where the Gardens at Waters East is located on the shores of Lake Michigan.

The gardens are behind the trees on the shore way to the right in the first photo.

Trust me - they are there jajajaj.

On the walk came across so many flowers - even this common thistle looks good today.

Here is a view taken this morning of the small harbor town where the gardens and I live.

It is a nice quiet beautiful place.

This last photo is a Cup Plant taken this morning. I gave it to the neighbors last Fall.  I have so many in the gardens so I thought it would be nice to share one.  At the gardens they are only one meter tall, the neighbor must have special soil.  This plant is over three meters tall - WOW.

Tall Ship Festival

This past week nine tall sailing ships passed by the Gardens at Waters East on their way to the Tall Ship Festival in Green Bay.  Standing here in the gardens watching, one becomes reflective of what life was like 150 – 200 years ago when these were the kind of ships plying the waters of Lake Michigan off these very shores.  Thoughts about: what was life like for those men and women so many years ago, where are their decedents today, the many years of history that have taken place in America and how it has changed, and more.  It was a time for much reflection.  Ships from Spain, Norway and ports in the USA sailed by the gardens.  Very nice to see.

I jumped in the car and followed them north to the next little town and then beyond.  Followed the ships to the canal in Sturgeon Bay.  It was a wonderful experience that I share here with you.
