Clouds - What do you see?

There are times when “looking up” rivals the beauty of “looking down” while walking the garden paths here on the shores of Lake Michigan in the Gardens at Waters East.  The forms, textures, colors, moods of the many and varied clouds moving overhead creates a beauty that for the most part only last moments – then changes – then vanishes – then becomes new again.

Remember as a child lying down on the soft grass and looking up at all those clouds  passing overhead?  Your mind was young and free and full of creativity.  It was so easy to imagine that the clouds were shaped like animals, birds or even looked like people you knew.  The clouds stimulated creativity, imagination, even dreams.

Well the clouds are still here, though different than all those from years ago.  They can and will make your mind dream and wonder like a child once again – just look up.  So many moods, so many forms, so much to see.

Here are two dozen photos taken over the year of the clouds floating above the gardens.
Dream on – enjoy.

  5. Yes, the sky and clouds transforms the look and feel of a garden from one day to the next, possibly from one minute to the next and your focus on the beauty of these ever-changing views if perfectly captured in the sequence of photos.

  7. I like the drama of the iris. With some of the pictures - the clouds look so threatening I think I would have been frightened to be under them.

Each year, I choose a tree and 'follow' it through the seasons - see when its leaves open/fall off, the insects that live on it, the plants which grow round it. It isn't in the least bit scientific but it is fascinating.

I'm inviting other bloggers to join me in this - to choose a tree and 'follow' it through the year. It will be very informal but, so we can all keep in touch with each other and know how 'our' trees are doing, I'll be putting a linky box on Loose and Leafy on 7th of every month, beginning with March.

I associate your blog with flowers rather than trees but, if you were to join in, that would make it even more interesting.
