Want a "Quickie" Today ? 5.23.16

(All “Quickies” are photos taken and posted the same day)
These photos were taken this morning at the Gardens at Waters East. - - 5.23.16
Now that Spring is in “full-swing”, there are so many plants blooming.  Walking around the gardens today – I chose only a few of the many delights there today.
Enjoy

Let us start our tour with a photo from late last night of the Asian Patio fountain.

 Red Tulip

 Virginia Bluebell

 Candytuff

 Cushion Spurge & Daffodil

beach stone -- filled pot in Formal Garden

 wild strawberry

 Forget-me-not

 Petasites japonicus - "Dinosaur Food"
In the fifteen years of gardening here - this is the tallest that the buds have ever grown.
The leaves will end up being 2&1/2 feet to 3 feet across - amazing.
(There will be a separate posting of this plant later in the Summer - very interesting!)

 Wood violet - blue

 Wood violet - white

 Wood violet - purple

  1. For all that your winters are very much colder than ours here in Dorset (UK) our current seasons seem pretty much in synch. Forget-me-nots, violets etc. But I had forgotten candytuft. How could I have forgotten such a simple but so very pretty a plant?

  3. Jack I know Petasites japonicus, we call it 'white hoof' and it grows in Far east of Russia. Your wood flowers are so nice, especially purple violet.
