Autumn Hike - Ryan Park

On one recent sunny day this past Autumn, took a long slow walk in the Ryan Park area near Gardens at Waters East.  It is a nature preserve about five miles from the gardens.  As you will see;  lots of beautiful trees, trails, hills, leaves of color and birds migrating as the season changes.  Nice way to spend an afternoon.

You are welcome to come along.

Enjoy

Very interesting mushroom growing on on tree.

Snake hiding in the leaves.

Colors here and colors there.

mushroom on a log

continuing on the trail

Came upon this old car, must have missed the curve!

Puff Ball mushroom, about 14 inches across.

Woodpecker checking me out.

    1. There were many when I would walk the campus trails while at the university this past year in Madison. Here there are a few when I go out into the woods.

  5. Hi!
I do enjoy all the pictures, beautiful nature. It is very similar to how it lokes here
We haven´t got any snow yet , which is a bit unusual. The woodpecker is a visiter in my garden too, among the small birds, as the blue tit, sparrow and other. I do feed them as they get harder to find something to eat.
    Have a lovely day /Marika

    1. One of these days I will post some of the many many birds that visit the garden throughout the year - lots! Here we are on the migratory flight route to Canada in Spring and back to Central America come Autumn.

    1. I am sure it was put there by an area farm. But I do think it was a nice "sculpture" to stumble upon!
