Orange & Wild - - WOW !

It has been a week of storms and rain at Gardens at Waters East.  With such weather happening day after day this week, thought it about time to post photos of one of the storms earlier this month.  As the storm front passed through the area, it was a fantastic sight!  Even the news stations reported on it as being highly unusual.  As the storm passed, the sky turned a brilliant orange.  Have never seen the sky that orange before.  The news anchors said it was caused by the angle of the sun and the level of the cloud deck.  Just look at these  photos.

A most dramatic evening sunset.

  1. Hi Jack. Your photos of the orange clouds are wonderful. I've never seen anything like this before. Such a drama in the top of the image when the storm front came in from the west.
I hope it has not rained all week.

Thanks for the comments on my blog, it's always interesting to read them. It makes me happy when I read that the translation now works so you can also read about our garden here in northern Sweden. About the Translation: It can sometimes have problems with the swedish grammar, but I hope you understand what I wrote on my blog.
Have a great week / Hans.

Ps. translation sometimes change my name to his. But Hans is right. Can anyone be called His?
I do not think so ...

  3. It could be the Icelandic volcano.
We are on the third aircraft shutdown as the ash from the Chilean Volcano goes around the world yet again - it may do again yet.
It travels 7000 kilometers to get here in the first place..
Our skies have been distinctively pink and often orange for weeks now. Not as stong as in your photos. But it's definite.

  6. WOWZA!!! Totally blown away by those photos, what an amazing and dramatic sight it must have been. We get plenty of rain clouds over here in Ireland, but nothing as dramatic as that. Thanks for stopping by my blog, and for directing me on to yours.

  7. Crazy! These pictures remind me of the storm in the Wizard of Oz that made "the house begin to pitch". Nature puts on the best show.

  8. Hi Jack,

Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog. I enjoyed it very much. If only because you are the first man!!

Your orange sky looks very dramatic and even a bit frighting. It must have been quite a spectacle. I can't remember having ever seen a sky like this in Holland.

    Happy day, Madelief

  14. Wow, those are great captures of the stormy sunset! You caught it at all the stages, too. Wasn't that a wonderful storm?! As long as no one was hurt, and not much damage to houses and plants.

  22. I'd be scared silly if the sky looked as it does in your photos.

About Blotanical and feeds etc. I'd recommend you don't worry until Stuart has stopped working on his improved version as I imagine everything will change then anyway. Otherwise, Diana at Elephant's Eye is expert, helpful and friendly and understands these things better than most of us.
