The Autumn Patio
Pull up a chair and sit yourself down. Wonderful autumn colors here on the Asian Patio this past November. Let them embrace you, and enjoy just being.
The garden is 22 years old. Started with an old corn field when the house was built. There are 9 + garden rooms, the patio is one of them. I would agree with you that it is a lovely place especially with Lake Michigan running along the east side of the. property.
Jesus, There were lots of Autumn colors on the patio area this year. Last year I was off at the university so I missed them. Nice to be here again and enjoy the season at the gardens.
It was extremely cold here the last week of November. The coldest in over thirty years. Now the last two days it has been above normal temperature - but that will be ending in a day or two.
Did you know that patio is a Spanish word? In Andalusia where I live (and was born) the patio is an important element in our houses. But here, the patios are enclosed by four walls, the open spaces are not considered a patio but a garden. Un saludo.
what a lovely garden. How young is it?

Deleteyes 22 years, to me still quite young but growing into oneself nicely :)
DeleteVery nice. It looks very comfy and lovely. Happy Holidays!
ReplyDeleteIt is comfy indeed, and well protected from any winds and lots of privacy all facing south for optimum sunshine. The best for the New Year for you.

ReplyDeleteI hope you had a very merry Christmas and that the new year brings health and happiness to you and your family.
Fernando, Yes I did have a merry and yet quiet Christmas. No rushing around just being with friends and watching the waves on the lake here.
DeleteBeautiful garden and colors. It's time to dream about spring, and hope the winter will mild and not so hard.
ReplyDeleteMarit, Seems your wish of warmer weather will happen today and tomorrow. Finally above freezing for two days!
DeleteBeautiful colors indeed! November was unusually warm and sunny at our place. Regards Elke

ReplyDeleteIt is a great. place to relax and look at the lake and the many bird that are here. Lots of colored leaves this year as you can see.
ReplyDeleteNice pics. My favourite: The second picture (with rain on the window).
ReplyDeleteMine too! I like that one - sort of moody atmosphere. Reflective.
