Took a quick run up to Door County recently. I like that place. So many places to visit and things to experience. No wonder it is a tourist mecca! There are numerous nature preserves, parks, art galleries, shops, great restaurants. On past Blog postings I have shared many of these.
This trip I focused only on Cave Point with the rock formation – Niagara Escarpment – there along the edge of Lake Michigan. Then a run up to the very end of the peninsula – to the car ferry that goes to Washington Island.
Nice to get away for a few hours.
used in jams and sauces.
seems to be a growing sport in many places.
where the ferry takes one to Washington Island.
Notice how clear the water is.
I will be taking another run up to the “Door” soon. This time to the Ridges – a very interesting UNESCO heritage sight. Will post photos of this soon after my return.
Beautiful coastal scenery
ReplyDeleteThis is a really big lake and almost like an ocean. All along the shore it is beautiful, some sand beaches, some rock cliff, all very nice.
DeleteMe parece un lugar precioso. Besos.
ReplyDeleteIt is! Wonderful place to live - and to garden.
DeleteBeautiful photos! The fruits looks very nice.
ReplyDeleteI have picked some in the Autumn and they taste like raspberries.
DeleteOh, yes, the thimbleberries. Yum! When my family lived near Green Bay, we made many trips to Door County. As an adult, I've been there many times, too. It would be especially wonderful during this particular hot, dry summer. Cave Point is a favorite destination. Great photos!
ReplyDeleteWe seem to share many of the same interest. Someday we will have to meet.

No kidding. I seem to see kayaks every place I drive lately. Looks like lots of fun.
DeleteAn incredible place. When the sea hits the rocks, it forms very interesting caves. Beautiful photos.
