Here are a few photos from recent
hikes along the shores of Lake Michigan at a state park north of Gardens at Waters East in and area known as Whitefish Dunes. It is
one of the great places to see some of the Niagara Escarpment, an unique rock
formation running from Niagara Falls over the top of the Great Lakes then out to the state
of Iowa.
(For more information, facts, and photos of this interesting
rock formation see the archives: -
- Watershed #6 - - July 21, 2012)
A couple of the photos posted
today show the same area “with” and then “without” the snow of recent
storms. This gives you a
study in contrast hiking along the shore.
Enjoy you day in the park!

Every photo, repeat, every
photo posted on this Blog has been and will continue to be only photos taken on
the property of Gardens at Waters East.
The exception will be those posted in the series – Watershed. For
important facts, details, and an overview of the watershed, refer to the
posting of July 2, 2011. The information there will place all
the photos in this special series in a proper context.
Briefly, we had snow here. It was fine and light and blew away in a day. Love lichen.
ReplyDeleteAmazing photos! I really enjoyed the snow/no snow comparisons!
