IT IS OFFICIAL !!!

It is now official

Missouri Primrose - 1st day blooming

The first full day of Summer is today – YEAH!!!

 Daisy & friend

 Aruncus - Goat's Beard

 Formal Garden

Coral Bells

To celebrate I took slow walks around the gardens -- both this morning and then again this afternoon.  Ended up taking more than 140 photos of the many flowers in bloom today.  Here I will post twenty-four of them – an “overview” of the day.

 Maltese Cross

 Lysimachia - 1st day blooming

Gottendorf Rose - 1st day blooming

 Lilac

Creeping Jenny - 1st day blooming

 Lupine

 Lake Michigan
always adds so much to the garner experience

 Moss Rose

 Siberian Iris - yellow

 Weigela - Wine and Roses

Allium Azureum - 1st day blooming

 Allium Mountain Mix

 Centaurea Montana

 Peony

 Poppy

Siberian Iris - Caesar Blue

I think that some of the plants must keep, hidden somewhere in amongst their leaves, a calendar of when Summer officially begins because there were some plants that bloomed today for the first time.  They must have know that today is the start of Summer.

 Splish Splash Geranium
Most interesting - every bloom is different - no two the same on the plant.

 Sweet William

Do enjoy your walk with me – so many more photos to see but these will have to do for this posting.

 Spirea - Snowmound

Baptisia

NOTE:   All photos use in this posting were taken on the property of Gardens at Waters East
unless otherwise marked.
NOTE:   Since this Blog is meant to be an accurate journal of the gardens;
no photos are “staged”, “arranged”, or ”photo-shopped” in anyway.
What is posted – is what it here.  It is what it is.

  2. Lovely photos, thanks for showing them. I think I never have seen your formal garden before. I think your plants its blooming one or two weeks before the plants in our garden in northern Sweden. Of all the plants you showing here there only the Centaurea Montana and some of our iris that is blooming yet.

    Have a nice summer! /Hans
