Winter Sunrises

A few of the many sunrises taken at Gardens at Waters East in mid-winter this year November, December, and January.

This is dawn which marks the beginning of twilight before sunrise.  It is recognized by the appearance of indirect sunlight being scattered in Earth’s atmosphere when the center of the Sun’s disc has reached 18 degrees below the observer’s horizon.

The morning twilight period will last until sunrise at which time the Sun’s upper limb breaks the horizon, when the direct sunlight outshines the diffused light.

Cold out, but beautiful as a new day dawns!

And now a couple of Sunflowers,

also meant to brighten up one's new day!

  2. Everyday the sunrises are different. Amazing all taken in basically the same spot and yet so different. Sometimes I will take 30 plus on the same morning. I have way more than I will every be able to post, but they are all great memories of life here at the lake. Glad you enjoyed your visit.

    1. It seems every Groundhog had different predictions for this Spring to arrive. In Madison it said "early spring" - I like that!
Hope all is well for you.
