The Ice Age Trail

Hiking part of the Ice Age Trail – Door County

Spent part of a midsummer day checking out what is blooming on the Ice Age Trail.  This is only a small section of the more than 1000 mile trail crossing Wisconsin. This section is just north of the gardens about 15 miles.

A great day enjoying the out-of-doors.

    1. As I am sure you can guess, with all these flowers on the trails and here in the gardens, there are lots of butterflies in this area. However I must say that the number of monarchs is much less this year maybe because we had such a warm Spring and they just continued moving North and did not stop over in this area. Next Spring will tell.

    1. This place is really in the midst of so many nature trails and nature preserves. It is a nice place to call home - and do my gardening. This state Wisconsin, is a vacation destination for so many especially people for Chicago that have second home here. There are 15,000 lakes here in the state and miles and miles of rivers plus the forest etc. Am fortunate to live is such a place of nature. Thanks for the compliment on my photos!.

  3. Lovely images from the Ice Age Trail. The full length of it is a blessing. I had thought about traversing it all, over time, but...we'll see. Thanks for sharing!

    1. I have friends who walked the whole thing back about 6 years ago. I doubt if I would be able to do that today! Nice that a part of it is here so near the house.
